It’s that time of the month again and the last thing you want to do is get out of bed or that comfy couch. I don’t blame you when my period comes around I feel drained too, but I don’t let that stop me from working out. Trust me, it gives you the energy you need and is a complete mood changer. Here are a few tips for exercising during your period.
Take it easy.
Lisen to your body, everyone’s menstrual cycle is completely different. Find a workout that accommodates to the way you’re feeling. If you’re not used to working out during your period, start slowly. Do some stretches or go for a walk.
Hydrate.
Always remember to drink plenty of water during your workouts. Carry a water bottle with you to the gym, park, or wherever it is you plan to exercise.
Wear the right clothes.
Stick to dark clothes and ditch the skin tight leggings if you feel uncomfortable. If you think you might leak, wear biker shorts under your regular workout clothes. It’ll keep everything in place and help you feel more relaxed during your workout.
Protection.
